Elmcote, a gorgeously moody 1900 design by designer J.H. Dearle, is being reintroduced by Morris & Co. with great excitement. Here in Elmcote, it is eloquently illustrated how Dearle received his training as William Morris' tapestry apprentice. The design is interwoven by whirling foliage organised in a traditional Dearle manner, with stout seedheads and tiny flowers. Due to the collaborative collection with Emery Walker's House, the historic residence of renowned typographer and close friend of William Morris, Sir Emery Walker, Elmcote re-enters the Morris & Co. collection.
