Spring Clean Hacks for the Resourceful

As the weather, hopefully, improves and Spring begins to peek its head through the clouds, our minds start to drift towards that big Spring clean. But, before you run off to replenish your supplies, why not see what life-hacks you could use to get your house as clean as can be.

You would probably be surprised to find out that in almost every room of the house you could find something to help you with your Spring clean. From your kitchen or pantry, you could use lemons to make shower heads sparkle; ketchup to make copper shine and baking soda to clean mud off rugs and carpets. For those of you with spare cola in the house, it can be used to clean the toilet bowl!

Your bathroom is also full of tools to help you clean your house, including as hair dryers that get rid of water stains on wood and toothpaste that can help clean the bathroom sink.

While hairspray isn't normally thought of as a cleaning product, it can do wonders for getting lipstick of collars. Why you have lipstick on your collar, we're not going to ask!

While for many the garage is somewhere that mess is created, they also house some surprising items that can be used for cleaning. For example, if you're careful with Turpentine you could use it to polish your shoes. WD-40 is also great for removing candle wax from rugs and carpets.

We hope this quirky guide gives you some inspiration to get your house cleaner than ever this Spring and hopefully save you a little money on cleaning products too!

These tips can also be used in a pinch, when an unexpected mess has been made and you have run out of your usual cleaning products.
