While traveling in Greece in the early 1960s, Maija Isola got inspired by the movement of water and depicted it in several fabric prints, including Seireeni (siren) from 1964. Named after the mythological sirens, the pattern also recalls the enchanting singing that lured sailors into dangerous waters. Time, careful attention and controlled processes ensure that this Marimekko rug can stand the test of time with ease for now and future generations. This design comes in a warm beige colourway, with a textured finish. Seireeni 132701 has been crafted with pure new wool yarns to create a thick and soft pile.
