William Morris' 1890 wallpaper design, Wallflower, has been re-released by Morris & Co. A pattern of tremendous energy and vibrancy is produced by the scrolling acanthus leaves that foreground tenderly crafted wallflowers. While the whitened foliage adds an almost sculptural aspect, the dark dots give the paper an additional layer of texture. The wall covering in Sir Emery Walker's drawing room, a renowned typographer, book printer, and friend of William Morris, served as the inspiration for Wallflower. Due to the cooperation collection between Morris & Co. and Emery Walker's House, Wallflower is back in the Morris & Co. collection after a long absence.
